Our Story

How we got  here.

Boora Seed did not begin with a grant. It began with a question: why do so many First Nations children arrive at school without the speech and language skills they need?

2019

The Idea

Boora Seed is founded after years working alongside First Nations educators and families in regional communities.

2020

First Pilot

The first Speech Boxes pilot reaches twelve families across two regional communities.

2021

Speech Pathologist Partnership

A formal partnership with qualified speech pathologists ensures every activity is clinically grounded.

2022

National Expansion

Speech Boxes reaches families in five states and educator training is launched.

2024

30,000 Families

Over 30,000 Australian families have now received a Speech Boxes program.
